Lantern Chain Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Lantern Chain (“the game”) is made by Abdellah Moukhless, publishing as Masnaa Games (“we”). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. The game is meant for players aged 13 and over.
No account needed
You can play without creating an account or giving us your name, email address or contact details. Your progress is saved on your device. The cloud save (below) is optional and uses the Google Play Games profile already on your phone.
Information used by the game
- Game progress (levels finished, stars, coins, the daily streak, the looks you bought and your settings) is stored on your device.
- Cloud save (optional): if you turn it on (Settings, or the offer after the first district), a copy of your game progress is kept in your Google Play Games account with Google Play Games Services, so you can continue on another phone. Signing in shares your Play Games gamer identity (gamer name and avatar) with the game; the game uses it only to find your save and does not keep it. On a new phone where you have not finished a level yet, the game looks for a Lantern Chain save in the Play Games account on that phone and, if there is one, brings it back and keeps the cloud save on. If you never turn the cloud save on, nothing is written to your account. Your phone’s own settings (language, volumes and the like) are not copied.
- Gameplay statistics (for example which levels are started, finished or skipped, how many pushes and how long they take, which helpers are used, how many ads are shown, and coins earned and spent) are collected with Google Firebase Analytics, only if your consent choices allow it. We use them to make levels fairer and to balance the in-game economy.
- Crash reports (device model, operating system version, app version and what the game was doing when it crashed) are collected with Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix bugs.
- Advertising: the game shows ads through Google AdMob: ads you choose to watch for a reward, and full-screen ads between some levels. AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID, IP address (which gives an approximate location, such as a city or region, never your precise location), how you interact with ads and the app, and diagnostic information, to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud. Google uses this information as an independent company. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for consent first and can change your choice at any time with Privacy choices in the game.
- Daily chain and game settings: the game downloads the day’s puzzle from Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and the current reward and price settings from Firebase Remote Config. Firebase App Check confirms the requests come from the real app. These downloads carry no information about you beyond what any internet request does.
- Time check: to keep daily rewards fair, the game asks a Google server for the current time. Nothing about you is sent.
- Notifications: the evening reminder for the daily chain is scheduled on your device, only if you turn it on. No notification data is sent to us. You can turn it off in the game or in your phone’s settings.
Who processes this information
Google provides Firebase, AdMob and Google Play Games Services. Their handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
- Change your ad and analytics consent with Privacy choices in the game.
- Reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your phone’s settings.
- Deleting the game removes the progress stored on your device.
- Turn the cloud save off with Sign out in the game’s Settings: the game stops using it on that phone.
Deleting your data
To ask us to delete the analytics and crash data linked to your copy of the game, email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Lantern Chain data”. We reply within 30 days. Data held by Google for advertising is managed by Google: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings. The cloud save is kept by Google in your Play Games account: you can delete it, or your whole Play Games account and its game data, from your Play Games profile or your Google Account.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
